Christmas

Rylan's First Christmas proved to be a memorable one, filled with family and love.  Although she doesn't understand the meaning of Christmas, her presence brought more meaning to my Christmas than I could have ever imagined.

Rylan decided Tipton would be a great pitstop on our drive to Visalia.  She had a slight wardrobe malfunction but was content to continue the drive sans clothes.

She loved her Christmas present from Grandma and Papa

I am pretty sure Aunt Am would hold Rylan the entire time if we let her

The only person that loves baby Rylan more than Aunt Cameron is...

Uncle Austin

and maybe Papa

Its finally starting to feel like winter in La Mesa!  We are enjoying the cool walks and warm clothes.

Plaid pj pants are apparently the preferred uniform for new moms

10 weeks

The holiday season + a new baby = time if flying by!!

Rylan has started becoming increasingly bored with Mom so we are trying out some new toys.

Grandma McCartney saved this little outfit that Sean wore for his first Christmas. It's a little big on Rylan but she still looks pretty cute in it.

Rocking an outfit from Nana!

We are so lucky to have a big cousin that saved lots of cute hand me downs. It's even more fun when there happens to be a picture of Reese in the same outfit!

They even nap the same way

Rylan had her first set of shots this week and it was by far the most painful thing I've ever experienced. She was less than thrilled but recovered far more quickly than Mom.  She is now 11bs, 8 oz and 22in long. Dr. Kafka is very impressed with her weight gain!

The after

All dressed up for a birthday lunch with Laura.  She was less than thrilled with the photo shoot.

She really is getting cuter by the day and she seems to know it.

She loves "talking" and will even let me flip through a cookbook as long as I read it out loud.

Hanging out with her favorite pup!

Penny thought I laid the blanket out for her.

2 Months Old

This month we invited Maureen and the pups to celebrate Rylan's 2 month birthday at dog beach in Ocean Beach.  Aunt Maureen was nice enough to snap a few pics of the family so that our monthly beach picture tradition can continue... for now!

This little girl is almost two months old! I can hardly believe it!  Rylan celebrated this milestone by bringing home her first cold and picking out her first Christmas tree.
We set up a "sick bed" complete with elevated sleeping and a humidifier. I'm sure the time will come when we have more of a "rub some dirt on it" attitude.

Only in San Diego do you have the pleasure of perspiring while Christmas tree shopping.

They say the camera adds 10lbs...

Since we were out of town I wasn't able to take Rylan's weekly blanket picture. My first "mom fail" and surely not the last.  We did manage to take a few pics during the week prior to leaving for the Central Valley.

Rylan and I met Aunt Lila for lunch one day. It was not Rylan's best outing but we survived.

Happy Thanksgiving

For Rylan's first Thanksgiving we packed up the family and traveled to Nana's house. Rylan was a trooper and barely made a peep during the 4 hour drive.  It was so fun to see all of our family. We ended our trip with a stop in Bako. Unlce Matt and Tia Romina made enchiladas. They were fabulous! We expect nothing less when those two are in the kitchen.

She wasn't thrilled about her thanksgiving outfit

Rylan was thrilled to visit with her Great Grandpa and Great Grandma

Reese wasn't too sure about sharing her mom

Taylor absolutely loves her and true to form was the sweetest boy in the whole world

We some how convinced everyone to hit the mall on Black Friday so we could take pictures with Santa. Reese and Rylan were not thrilled.

This week Rylan has really started responding to my voice with a smile. It definitely softens the blow of the sleepless nights.

The very first smile I was able to snap a picture of
